Knights of the Shed: Friendships That Fly!

At Knights of the Shed, participants in our social skills groups have been busy exploring the Social Stencil curriculum during the first half of 2025. Key concepts covered included:

  • Listening
  • Collaboration
  • Emotions
  • Friendship Styles
  • Understanding Conflict
  • Problem Solving

One activity focused on what makes a friendship successful, highlighting the “3 Cs”: Care, Company, and Common Interests. To make it fun, we decided to create advertisements selling “Friendships that Fly” to the public.

Participants wrote scripts and drafted posters, then we used AI to create final products. Here are some of the results (any errors are AI’s best attempts!).

About Social Stencil

Social Stencil is an Australian neuroaffirming social-emotional curriculum that helps students understand their own and others’ social, emotional, learning, and communication styles. By recognising individual differences, it fosters inclusive classrooms where acceptance, positive peer relationships, and belonging contribute to supportive and effective learning environments.
